Stickers
How to set up “New”, “Bestseller”, “Sale”, “Free shipping” badges and custom stickers on product photos in the Trust template for OpenCart 3: conditions, colors, generation and CRON.
Stickers are colored badges on a product photo: “New”, “Bestseller”, “Sale”, “Free shipping”. They are visible in categories, search, specials, product modules, quick view and on the product page.

Open Octemplates → Stickers → Product stickers settings.
How it works
Stickers aren’t calculated when a page opens: the module checks the conditions for every active product in advance and saves the result. That keeps the site fast, but after changes you need to run generation.
Set up stickers
Enable the standard ones you need, set conditions, texts and colors.
Run generation
With the “Recalculate product stickers” button or a CRON job. Generation sets stickers for all products again using the saved settings.
Add a CRON job on your hosting
So stickers update by themselves — for example, “New” disappears after 30 days and “Sale” when the special price ends. See below.
What needs generation. Changes to texts, images, conditions and sticker statuses apply after generation. Colors apply right after saving.
Settings and generation

- Module status — a disabled module hides all stickers on the site and removes the “Stickers” block from the product editor. Settings are kept.
- CRON password — any complex set of Latin letters and digits. It becomes part of the generation link and protects it from unwanted runs.
- CRON command — appears after you save the password. Add it to your hosting scheduler to run once a day, for example at night:
/usr/bin/wget -O - -q -t 1 'https://your-site/index.php?route=octemplates/stickers/cron_stickers&key=PASSWORD'
The “Recalculate product stickers” button runs generation right away. On a large catalog it can take a minute or two — don’t close the page. Save your changes before running it.
Standard stickers

Nine ready-made stickers. An automatic sticker is set by the module on all products that meet its condition:
| Sticker | When it is set |
|---|---|
| New | The product was added no more than N days ago. For example, 30 — the sticker stays for a month. |
| Free shipping | The product price (including the sale) is not lower than the given amount. It’s only a badge — the module doesn’t change shipping itself. |
| Bestseller | At least the given number of units sold across all orders, except unfinished ones. |
| Popular | Product page views exceed the given number. |
| Sale | The product has an active special price. When the sale ends, the sticker disappears by itself. |
| Sold out | Stock equals the given number, usually 0 — out of stock. |
| Running out | Stock from 1 to the given number of units. |
| YouTube video | The product description contains an embedded YouTube video. |
| Recommended | Always manual — ticked in the product editor. |
Sticker parameters
| Parameter | What it does |
|---|---|
| Sticker enabled | A disabled sticker isn’t set on products and isn’t shown in the product editor. |
| Automatic | Turn off to make the sticker manual: it is ticked in the product editor. |
| Sticker text | A short badge text for each language, emoji allowed: “???? New”. Empty — the sticker isn’t shown in that language. |
| Text color and background color | Set separately for each sticker. The “How it will look” block shows a preview. |
| Sort order | A lower number — earlier among the product’s stickers. |
| Text sticker | For “Sale”: turn off if the discount percent next to the price is enough and a photo badge isn’t needed. |
| Discount percent next to price | For “Sale”: a “−20%” badge next to the old price in cards and on the product page. |
Sticker icon
An icon can be shown next to the text: upload an image and set width and height (20 × 20 px by default). The description is shown as a tooltip on hover. For large sticker images — for example, a bank logo — turn on “Icon only”: only the image is shown, without text and background. Still fill in the sticker text: it identifies the sticker in the product editor.
Manual stickers
If “Automatic” is off, the sticker becomes manual: it appears only on products where it is ticked.
Open a product in Catalog → Products, the “Data” tab, the “Stickers” block — tick the ones you need and save the product.

The editor lists only enabled manual stickers that have a name in the admin language. For a single product the sticker is set when you save — no need to run generation.
Custom stickers
On the “Custom stickers” tab you can create your own: “Eco”, “Made to order”, “Gift”, “Free installation”.

Add a sticker
Click “Add sticker”, enter the text for each language, choose colors and, if needed, add an icon.
Tick it on products
Custom stickers are always manual: tick them in the product editor as described above.
A name in the admin language is required. It is how the sticker is linked to products. If you change the admin language, tick the sticker on products again.
