Quick view

How to set up the quick product view window opened from the catalog in the Trust template for OpenCart 3: what to show customers — photo, description, specifications, quantity, wishlist and compare.

2 min read

In the catalog the customer doesn’t go to the product page: they click the “Quick view” button on a product card, and a window with the photo, price, description and a buy button opens over the catalog. Close the window — and they are back among the other products.

Quick view settings

Here you choose what exactly the customer sees in the window.

Number of characters in descriptionThe description is trimmed to this many characters. Empty — the full description is shown.

Buttons and fields

SettingWhat it does
Enable “Quantity” fieldA quantity selector next to the “Buy” button.
Display the “Add to wishlist” buttonA button that adds the product to the wishlist.
Display the “Add to compare” buttonA button that adds the product to comparison.

Tip. For quick view a photo, price and a short description are enough. Trim a long description to 300–500 characters: a customer who needs details will go to the product page.

Quick view and quick order

These are different features. Quick view is a window with product information. You can also buy from it, and the “Buy in 1 click” field in this window is enabled in the “Quick order” module, in the “Where to show the field” section.
