Category Wall
How to set up the Category Wall module in the Trust theme for OpenCart 3: choosing categories, heading, sorting, images, subcategories, adding to a layout.
Category Wall is a row of round tiles with category images that lets a customer jump to the right section in one click. You choose which categories to show and, optionally, add a dropdown list of subcategories to the tiles.

Open Extensions → Extensions → Modules, find "Octemplates - Category Wall" and add a new module (or edit an existing one).
Settings

General
- Name — only you see it, it is how the module is called in the modules list and layouts. 3 to 64 characters.
- Status — a disabled module isn't shown on the site.
Block heading
The Module header is shown above the tiles. Set it separately for each language.
Categories
- Select a category — tick the categories to include in the block. Each becomes a separate tile; categories of any nesting level work. Use the search and the "Select all" and "Remove selection" buttons; the number of selected ones is shown at the top. If none is ticked, the block is not shown on the site.
- Sort — the order of tiles and subcategories: "By sort order" of categories or "By name".
Appearance
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Show category image | The category image is shown above its name; if there is none, a placeholder is used. |
| Show subcategories | A button appears on the tile that expands a list of direct subcategories with a link to the whole category. |
| Subcategories limit | The maximum number of subcategories in the tile dropdown. A required number. |
| Image size | Width and height in pixels: category images are resized to this size. |
Tip. Pick 8–12 of your most important sections and category images in one style: tiles look tidier when the pictures share a style and sit on a transparent or light background.
Add the module to a layout
After saving, go to Design → Layouts, open the layout you need (for example "Home") and add the module to the position you want. Without this step the block will not appear on the site.
You can create several copies of the module with different categories and settings and place them in different layouts.
