Bestsellers
How to add a “Top sellers” block with the best-selling products of the current category or manufacturer in the Trust template for OpenCart 3: settings, subcategories, limit, placing it in a layout.
On a category or manufacturer page the module shows a block with the best-selling products of that very category or manufacturer. The customer immediately sees what others choose, and you boost sales of popular items.
How it works
- On a category page the block shows bestsellers from that category, on a manufacturer page — from that manufacturer, on other pages — from the whole store.
- The ranking is by the number of units sold in orders with an assigned status.
- Only products that are in stock are counted.
- The list is cached. After you save the settings, the product cache is cleared automatically.
How to connect
Create the module
Open Extensions → Extensions → Modules, find Octemplates - Bestsellers in Categories and Manufacturers, click “Install” and then “Add”.
Set it up
Set the name, heading, limit and image size — see below.
Add the module to a layout
In Design → Layouts open the “Category” and “Manufacturer” layouts (and others if needed), add the module to the position you want and save.
Settings
| Field | What to enter |

| Module Name | Only you see it: this is how the module is called in the module list and layouts. |
| Status | A disabled module isn’t shown on the site. |
| Module Heading | Shown above the products. Set it for each site language (3 to 64 characters), for example “Top sellers”. |
| Limit | The maximum number of products in the block. |
| Bestsellers from subcategories | On a category page it also counts products from all its subcategories. Without it — only products assigned directly to that category. |
| Width × height | Product image size in the block, from 1 to 300 px. 200 × 200 is recommended. |
Tip. For top-level categories with many subcategories (“Electronics”, “Clothing”) turn on “Bestsellers from subcategories” — otherwise the block may be empty: the products sit in child categories.
Several blocks
You can create several copies of the module with different limits, headings and looks and place them in different layouts: a compact block in the category sidebar and a wide one under the product list.
