Latest Reviews

Fresh reviews on the home page and in other parts of the site work as social proof: a new customer sees that the store is used and people are satisfied. The Trust theme has two separate modules for this:

• "Latest store reviews" — the store rating, ratings by criteria and reviews about how the store works (from the separate reviews page);
• "Last reviews" — the newest customer reviews about products, with the product photo.

Both are added as regular modules: Extensions → Extensions → Modules, then the layout you need in Design → Layouts.

Latest store reviews

The block shows the store rating, average scores by criteria, a "Write a review" button, a "View all" link (to the reviews page) and the latest published reviews. At the top or bottom of the page reviews sit in a grid, in the left or right column they scroll one at a time. While there are no published reviews, the block is not shown.

Find "Octemplates - Latest store reviews" and add the module.

• Module name — only you see it, it is how the module is called in the modules list and layouts. 3 to 64 characters.
• Status — a disabled module isn't shown on the site.
• Number of reviews — how many latest published reviews to show, newest first. Leave empty for 8.

At the top of the settings page there are quick links to the reviews list and the reviews settings: moderation and rating criteria are described in the Store Reviews article.

Latest product reviews

The module shows the newest published product reviews: the product photo and name, the rating, an excerpt of the text (up to 300 characters), the author and the date. Only approved reviews of enabled products are taken. The product name leads to its page.

Find "Octemplates - Last reviews" and add the module.

• Module name and Status — as above.
• Limit — how many latest reviews to load (1 to 100). The module always takes at least 8, so lower values have no effect. In narrow columns reviews scroll with arrows, and in wide ones 4 are visible at first, the rest behind the "View all" button.
• Width × height — the size of the product photo in a review, 1 to 300 px; images are resized to it.

Product reviews are approved in the standard OpenCart reviews section: Catalog → Reviews.

Add the module to a layout

After saving, go to Design → Layouts, open the layout you need (for example "Home") and add the module to the position you want. Without this step the block will not appear on the site.
