SMS Notify
How to connect the TurboSMS or AlphaSMS provider and set up SMS to customers and the store in the Trust template for OpenCart 3: module notifications, order status SMS, manual sending, log.
SMS Notify sends SMS to customers and the store from all template modules: new orders, login codes, price tracking, back-in-stock, callback requests and more. TurboSMS and AlphaSMS are supported, plus hybrid Viber + SMS sending.
Open Octemplates → Modules → SMS notification settings.
Connecting
Sign up with a provider
Create an account with TurboSMS or AlphaSMS, top up the balance and register a sender name (alpha name) — without an approved name SMS won’t be sent.
Enter the keys
On the “Provider” tab choose the service and paste the access key: for TurboSMS — the API token (account → API connection), for AlphaSMS — the API key from the API settings.

Fill in the general settings
On the “General” tab enable the module and enter the sender name and the store phone.
Turn on the notifications you need
On the “Module notifications” tab tick “Send” for the events you need.
General

| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Module enabled | When off, no SMS is sent even if individual notifications are on. |
| Sender name | The alpha name customers see instead of a number: 3–11 Latin letters or digits, for example MyShop. It must be approved in the provider account. |
| Admin phone | Store SMS go here: new orders, product questions, callback requests, “Found cheaper”, reviews. In international format: +380671234567. |
| Transliteration | Converts Ukrainian letters to Latin. Latin fits 160 characters per SMS instead of 70 — messages are cheaper. |
| Keep a log | Every SMS is recorded on the “SMS log” tab with the provider response. |
| Edit before sending | The manager can edit the template text before manual sending from the order page (up to 300 characters). |
Viber + SMS
Turn on “Hybrid sending Viber + SMS” on the “Provider” tab: a Viber message is sent first, and if the customer didn’t receive it — an SMS. Enter the Viber sender approved in the provider account (3–25 characters). A paid Viber message package is required.
Module notifications
Each notification is sent by its module when the event happens. Tick “Send” for the ones you need.

| Notification | To |
|---|---|
| New order | Customer and store (separate templates) |
| SMS authorization, registration confirmation, order confirmation | Customer — code [code] |
| Abandoned carts | Customer |
| Price tracking, back-in-stock notification | Customer |
| Review reminder, delivery notification | Customer |
| Back-in-stock request, product question | Store |
| Callback request, “Found cheaper” | Store |
| Store review, blog comment | Store |
Custom text
Without “Custom text” the module’s default text is sent. Turn it on to write your own — separately for each language. Shortcodes in square brackets insert data: clicking a shortcode inserts it into the text, [br] is a line break. The counter shows how many SMS the message splits into: up to 70 characters per SMS in Cyrillic, up to 160 in Latin.
Example for a new order:
[store]: order #[order_id] for [order_total] received. Thank you!
Order SMS
The “Orders” tab has two kinds of SMS.

SMS on order status change
The customer automatically gets an SMS as soon as the order moves to a selected status. Click “Add template”, set a name (only you see it), the order statuses and the text. If a status is selected in several templates, the first one is used.
Your order #[order_id] has been shipped. Tracking: [npttn]
Shortcodes: [store], [customer_name], [order_id], [total], [order_status], [comment], [npttn], [upttn], [rozttn]. [npttn], [upttn], [rozttn] — Nova Poshta, Ukrposhta and Rozetka Delivery tracking numbers from the order page; [comment] — the last comment from the history.
Templates for manual sending
Templates appear on the order page in the tracking block — the manager picks a template and sends an SMS to the customer in one click. The SMS text is added to the order history.
Order #[order_id] shipped, tracking [ttn]: [tracking_url]
SMS log
The latest SMS sent: phone, text, notification, provider, date and the provider response. If a customer says the SMS didn’t arrive, here you see whether it was sent and what the service replied (for example, “insufficient funds” or “sender not approved”).
