Installation

How to upload the Trust template files, enable the theme and its modules in OpenCart 3.

2 min read

Installation takes 5–10 minutes. You will need access to the site files (FTP or your hosting file manager) and to the OpenCart admin panel.

Before you start. Back up your store files and database.

Requirements

Installing the template

  1. Upload the files to the server

Unpack the archive. Copy the admin, catalog, image and system folders from the upload folder to the site root — where index.php and config.php are. Confirm replacing files when asked.

  2. Install the theme

In the admin panel open Extensions → Extensions and choose “Themes” from the type list. Next to Trust OCTemplates click the green “Install” button, then the blue “Edit” button.

The license is activated automatically during installation — no key is needed.

  3. Save the template settings

The Trust settings page opens. Without changing anything, click “Save” — the template will store its default settings. You can return to them at any time, see “Template settings”.

  4. Select the theme for your store

Go to System → Settings and click “Edit” next to your store. On the “General” tab, set “Theme” to Trust OCTemplates and save.

  5. Enable the modules you need

An Octemplates section appears in the left admin menu. Expand it, open a module, switch its status on and click “Save”. Each module is described in its own article in this documentation.

Troubleshooting

The storefront hasn’t changed

Refresh the cache: on the template settings page click “Refresh modifications”, then “Clear template cache”. Then reload the store page bypassing the browser cache (Ctrl + F5, on Mac — ⌘ + Shift + R).

License error during installation

The license is tied to a domain. Make sure you install the template on the domain it was purchased for. A test subdomain needs a separate license (there is no limit on their number) — open a ticket with support.

Tip. See how everything is set up in the admin demo (login and password: demo).
