Callback

How to set up the Callback module in the Trust theme for OpenCart 3: form fields, required modes, email notifications, request list and processing.

2 min read

The "Request a call" button is in the header, in the contact block and in other places of the theme. A visitor clicks it, leaves a name and phone number, and you call back at a convenient time. It is the shortest path for those who hesitate and don't want to write or look for a number.

Callback window on the storefront

Open Octemplates → Modules → Callback.

Settings

Callback settings

General

  • Status — when disabled, the module shows no window and accepts no requests. The other settings appear only when the module is enabled.

Admin notifications

  • Notification status — an email is sent to the given address for every new request.
  • Mail for notifications — separate several addresses with commas. Required when notifications are on.

The email is sent right after the request. If it doesn't arrive, check the store's mail settings.

Request form

For "Name" and "Phone" choose a mode: "Disabled" — the field is not in the form, "Enabled" — the field is shown but optional, "Enabled and required" — the form can't be sent without it.

FieldNotes
Name1 to 32 characters.
PhoneThe number is validated against the country masks from the theme settings. It is the main field of the request — don't disable it.
CommentMulti-line field where the visitor can give a convenient time or a question. Enabled with a switch.

Below the form the visitor sees the terms agreement (linked to an information page from the theme settings) and other ways to contact you: phone, Telegram, email.

Tip. Keep only the phone required. The shorter the form, the more people fill it in.

If the visitor is logged in, name and phone are filled in automatically.

Requests list

The "Requests list" tab holds all requests, newest on top. The tab shows the number of new ones.

Callback requests list

  • User — entered data: name, phone, comment and the page the request came from;
  • Date added — request date;
  • Processed — a switch: turn it on once you have called. Processed rows fade so new ones stay visible.

You can delete single requests, selected ones or all at once.

Handling requests

  1. Call back

    The sooner the better — the request is most relevant while the visitor is still on the site.

  2. Mark as processed

    Turn on the switch in the list so colleagues don't call twice.
